Easter Vigil Service

As Christians have done for centuries, we keep vigil to celebrate Christ's resurrection at duskfall. The service begins outside at the front steps, where we light the first fire of Easter. Then, the entire congregation processes inside singing the Exultet. As the service progresses, more light is introduced until at last we ring bells and shout "Alleluia!" Lutheran congregations from across Staten Island join us for this special service.
