Wonder & Light 2026
Staten Island's Christmas Tradition
Every December, Wonder & Light features the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah and Christmas hymns and carols for the whole family!
Comfort ye, my people...
Handel’s Messiah tells the Christmas story, from Isaiah’s prophecies to the angels appearing to the shepherds, with immense drama, lush harmonies and the full resources of singers and instrumentalists. The movements alternate between solos, full chorus moments, and orchestral passages.
From the first majestic chords of the overture to the final trumpets of the Hallelujah Chorus, it’s an evening you’ll carry with you through the season.
...and the Glory of the Lord!
Trinity’s musicians come from top conservatories and some of the city’s finest ensembles. Soloists and a professional orchestra join Trinity’s choir, bringing artists with experience on Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, major church and opera stages to a neighborhood sanctuary in Stapleton. Whether it’s your first Messiah or your fiftieth, it’s world-class music close to home, and it’s the best way we know to begin the Christmas season.
